Being part of a nuclear family, I feel lucky to have parents who are very supportive and concerned about my education. I would like to let you know that my father, Mr. Om Parkash is running an agriculture business in my native city, and my mother, Mrs. Raj Bala is a family manager, a good wife, and a mother of my sister and me.

Besides, I don’t have any relatives or family members living in Australia. But, I am intended to enroll in an international course at La Trobe University and have an urge to gain high-quality learning in Bachelor of Business that can make me a subject-matter expert in different fields, including Agribusiness, Marketing, Digital Business, Management, Finance, and more.

The best part is I can become a helping hand of my father in the future and help my parents expand their Agriculture business all over India, which is currently operating in Kaithal, Haryana. In addition, my family members are well settled and can afford my education in Australia.

Academic Background:

As far as my scholastic is concerned, I have finished my Matriculation from Grewal Public School in May 2018 with 65% from the Central Board of Secondary Education Board, and I have done my senior secondary (Commerce) from Kohinoor Intl Academy, Tatiana, Punjab 136034, and secured 69% in 2020. Later I got admission to Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab, for Bachelor of Commerce Honors in 2020 when I got to know the border closing conditions of Australia, which has reputed universities, such as the University of Queensland, Monash University, University of Tasmania, University of New England, as well as the La Trobe University that gives an opportunity to students like me to join business programs by replacing traditional general commerce courses in India and other parts of the world.

Gap Explanation:

I have no gap in my overall studies. Instead of this, I explored several career options after my 12th commerce in India. I wanted to apply for a Bachelor of Business in India, but the course structure was not designed as per my interests.

Other than that, I gave PTE (Pearson Test of English) on 7th June 2022, and earned an overall 59 score with 60 in Speaking, 63 in Listening, 63 in Writing, and 52 in Reading.

After obtaining the required scores, I approached La Trobe University in Sydney, accredited by AACSB and striving to be one of the leading business education alliances for students, educators, and people who want to embrace a successful career in bachelor of business.

Undoubtedly, I can choose other countries like Canada, the UK, and the USA for the same course, but based on my thorough research, I found La Trobe as a great education provider for me. The best part is I received an offer letter from La Trobe – Sydney Campus as a genuine student for visa purposes and got 8 units as per my past educational background.

Plus, there is a chance of getting a 20% scholarship to reduce my annual tuition fees or a number of subjects for the whole duration of my studies. Studying abroad is the most challenging decision that I make, especially when I have other countries to choose from. For this, there are some reasons that I have specified below:

USA

Eligibility Requirements

G.R.E, G.M.A.T, T.O.E.F.L, and S.A.T are some of the tests that are prerequisites and compulsory to pass if I have to take admission to colleges in the United States. However, I can enroll in Australian universities by giving PTE or IELTS tests.

High Living Expense and Tuition Fees

In comparison to Australia, the fee of business courses in the USA is expensive. Generally speaking, I can’t afford the daily expenses of the USA. Whether it is accommodation, food, clothing, or study, everything is overpriced. I would like to help you know that I have already checked out some universities’ lists on the collegeduniya site. Here, I got to know most USA colleges like Harvard University, Cambridge, Stanford University, University of California, University of Chicago, and many others have plenty of courses for business streams, but they are offering their services at nearly 40 to 50 lakhs.

No Job Guarantee

There is no guarantee whether I will get a job after finishing my studies in the United States or not because the job for a particular course relies on several factors, such as performance, current economic performance, university reputation, education field, communication skills, job searching skills, knowledge and experience, emotional quotient, etc. Whereas La Trobe believes that all students can have a better future no matter how many specialties I have in my subject areas.

Accordingly, I believe that the USA is not a safe country for me, and factors like poor access to public education, exposure to harmful chemicals like pollution, and high crime rate enable me to avoid America for my higher studies.

Cold Climate

Cold weather and snowfall conditions are some of the issues that make it challenging for me to survive in Canada. In India, we don’t have a habit of dealing with harsh weather conditions. Most of the time, our climate is moderate. Anyway, I can enjoy warm summers, mild winters, and a sunny climate in Sydney, Australia.

Not Sufficient Institutes for Bachelor of Business

When it comes to bachelor’s and business degrees, Canada offers a large variety of bachelor’s programs, and they can include Bachelor of Administration, Bachelors of Commerce, Financial Mathematics, Media and Communications, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Applied Business, and Economics. This means there are separate courses in Canada, and one should choose a single course and pay separately to satisfy the needs of a bachelor’s degree. Nevertheless, Australia’s La Trobe permits me to design my study program and gives me pliability to choose majors, minors, and elective subjects in order to win a bachelor’s degree in business. Similarly, hostels are so far from universities, and the quality of rooms is not so good. Lastly, the rainy weather can create a mess if I have to commute on a daily basis from one place to another. The currency rate of the UK is higher, which is an indication of experiencing expensive tuition fees and living expenses in the UK.
Colleges like the University of Warwick, University of London, Imperial College, London, and the University of Manchester offer bachelor’s programs in business studies. Still, I am unable to see a Bachelor of Business course anywhere in the UK.

After doing a job for a few months in Australia, I can approach its experts to shift my job location, which will be India, and further join my family members in my home country and make strategies to promote my family business and I have a golden chance to run my startup business.

Return to Home Country

Once my degree is over, and after fulfilling my career expectations, I will move to India because I don’t have plans to live in Australia on a permanent basis. At this time, I have other responsibilities as well like my younger sister is in 12th standard. After my two or three years degree course in Australia, she will be known as a graduate. She also has some desires and wishes that I have to fulfill for sure. Besides, my father has given me a quality education all time. It’s time to pay back. I have plans to take care of my parents, which will be possible in India.

As I told you, my father is associated with an Agriculture business. Currently, he has my grandfather, who is above 50 and maybe needs some break from work. I can’t be selfish. My responsibility is to provide a healthy lifestyle to my grandfather, mother, and father.

Life is uncertain for everyone. A few years later, my father will not be able to take care of his medical and daily needs because our parents demand some dependence at one age. Hence, my presence matters a lot. I have to return to India to manage my father’s business. Right now, the financial condition of my father, grandfather, and uncle is good. They have two or more financial resources.

They are also my sponsors and have their own residential house, agricultural land, and movable and immovable assets. Roughly, my father and grandfather’s annual income is One Crore and Forty thousand, which can be approx. in AUD 252,742/-), which is proof that my family members can afford my education in Australia.

Aside from this, I am the sole and legal heir of my family. Thus, the above assets will be passed to me when my father enters his old age. I will be the manager of these assets in the future that exhibits I will get back to India after the completion of my degree, my post-study, or work period.
